Hoppa (the "App") is a mobile application developed for dance learning, real-time body tracking, and scoring. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use our App.

By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information to provide, maintain, and improve the services we offer.

A. Account and Profile Information

To use the cloud-syncing and leaderboard features of the App, you are required to create an account. When you register or update your profile, we collect:

  • Email Address: Used for authentication, password recovery, and communicating account-related notices.
  • Name & Username: Displayed in your profile and on the global leaderboards.
  • Social Media Handles (Optional): TikTok and Instagram handles if you choose to link them to your profile.
  • Demographic & Physical Information (Optional): Age/Birthday, Gender, Height, and Weight. These physical metrics are used to customize your profile experience and gameplay stats.
  • Language Preference: Used to localize the App's interface.

B. Gameplay and Performance Data

To enable the leaderboard and track your progression over time, we collect:

  • Scores and Rankings: High scores and overall point accumulations.
  • Dance Session History: Timestamps of when you danced, the dance ID played, session play duration, and accuracy percentages.
  • Score Timelines: Anonymized rolling performance graphs mapped during your sessions to show scoring progress.

C. Custom Choreography Requests

If you use the feature to request custom stick-figure choreographies, we collect:

  • Submitted Video Links: The YouTube video URLs you input to generate simplified stick-figure motion tracks.

D. Usage and Device Diagnostics (Optional)

If you opt-in to share diagnostics with Apple, Apple may collect non-identifiable technical data (e.g., device model, OS version, crash logs, and app performance metrics) to diagnose bugs and improve app stability. The App does not integrate any third-party analytics or crash reporting SDKs.

2. On-Device Processing (Data We Do NOT Collect)

We prioritize your privacy by processing sensitive motion and camera data strictly on your device.

  • Camera Feed & Raw Body Tracking: Camera access is used solely for real-time motion tracking and body pose estimation via Apple's Vision framework. These camera frames are analyzed instantaneously in temporary memory and are never saved, stored, or converted into identifiable facial or biometrics databases. We never upload, stream, or store your raw camera feed or body tracking skeleton data on our servers.
  • Saved Videos: If you choose to record your dance performance, the final video is saved directly to your device's native Photos app. We do not have access to these files, and they are not uploaded to our cloud servers.
  • Local Network Streaming: The LAN streaming feature broadcasts video feeds locally over your Wi-Fi network. This feed is streamed peer-to-peer and is not transmitted to our cloud servers.

Health & Physical Safety Disclaimer

Hoppa involves physical movement. By using the App, you acknowledge that physical exercise carries inherent risks of injury. You are responsible for ensuring you have a safe, clear space before playing, and consulting a medical professional if you have any pre-existing health conditions.

3. Third-Party Service Providers

We utilize trusted third-party services to host and power certain parts of the App:

A. Supabase

We use Supabase for authentication, user management, and cloud database hosting. Your profile data, authentication credentials, and dance history are securely processed and stored on Supabase servers.

B. YouTube & Google Services

Our custom choreography generator processes YouTube links. By using this integration, you acknowledge and agree that you are bound by the YouTube Terms of Service and that your interaction is subject to the Google Privacy Policy.

  • You can manage or revoke the App's access to your data via the Google Security Settings page at Google Permissions.

4. How We Use the Information

We use the collected data for the following purposes:

  • To create, secure, and maintain your account.
  • To calculate and display ranks on the global leaderboard.
  • To display your performance history and progress charts.
  • To process and generate stick-figure choreographies from requested video links.
  • To communicate with you regarding support requests or account updates.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

We keep your personal information only as long as necessary to provide our services and as described in this Policy.

  • Account Deletion: You can delete your account and all associated personal data at any time. You can request account deletion directly through the App settings (Profile -> Edit Profile / Account settings) or by emailing us at hoppa.dance.support@gmail.com. Upon receipt of your deletion request, your profile, authentication records, and dance history will be permanently deleted from our servers.

6. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, we will take immediate steps to delete such information from our servers. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this document. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
